The Kenyatta International Convention Centreis a State Corporation established under the Tourism Act. (2011) that came into operation on 1st September 2012. KICC isresponsible for promoting and positioning Kenya as a preferred Meetings, Incentives, Conferences/Conventions and Exhibition/ Events destination of choice to MICE tourism delegates from around the world.
KICC facilitates bids to attract international meetings and events to Kenya. The Corporation has greatly worked towards ensuring that Kenya retains its position as the second most preferred destination for MICE events in Africa and in the top one hundred MICE destinations of the world.
Through KICC, Kenya has hosted world renown events over time that include the 10th Africa Caribbean Pacific- European Union (ACP-EU) Ministerial Conference 2014, 56th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference 2010,14th Extra-Ordinary Summit of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Assembly of Heads of State and Government 2010 among many others, Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2015 among others
The Country has also hostedAfrican Travel Association 40th Annual World Congress ,World Conference on Public Relations in Emerging Economies in November 2015, The Papal Visit, 10th World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference, Tokyo International Conference on African Development, The United Nations Conference and Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) in 2016 among others.
